Thomas Everett Bartlett, CPA - Senior Accountant
Tom Bartlett joined the Walsh, Kelliher & Sharp team in 1999. As Senior Accountant, Tom completes technical reviews for most attest engagement financial statements, completes annual monitoring reviews of quality control procedures over attest engagements, and updates the firm’s quality control policies and procedures as appropriate. He also completes original work on several attest engagements, including work on significant accounting problems encountered for any client.
Prior to joining the firm, Tom taught accounting and auditing at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for 34 years. His classes were primarily concerned with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS). As a result, he has spent a working lifetime developing his knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and Standards governing compilations and reviews.
Tom has earned a Master of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, from Emory University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes College, with majors in Economics and Business Administration. He is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed to practice in Georgia and Alaska, and a member of both the Alaska Society of Certified Public Accountants (AKCPA), and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). In the past, Tom has also served as President of the AKCPA, Chair of the Alaska Board of Accountancy, and Director of Fairbanks Resource Agency.
Outside of the office, Tom enjoys all sports (most of which he is now too old to play very well, though he continues to enjoy participating, watching on TV, and watching his kids play). He also plays lousy golf and loves to read.
