Therese Taillefer Sharp, CPA, CGMA - Owner/Vice-President

Therese Sharp has been with the firm since 1980, when she was employed as a summer intern. Therese returned to the firm upon graduation in 1981 and became a Principal of the firm in 1991.

As President, Therese is responsible for managing staff, responding to the whims of the board, and keeping the firm on track. Her niche accounting expertise lies in construction and professional services industries, along with estate planning, gift tax, and resolving IRS issues.

Therese attended San Antonio College, North Texas State and completed her education with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She has maintained close ties with her alma mater through involvement in the Alumni Association, serving as President in 1991.

Therese has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1983 and has passed all examinations for the AICPA’s Certificate of Educational Achievement in Tax Planning.

Therese is a member of the Alaska Society of Certified Public Accountants (AKCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Taxation, Management Consulting and Information Technology Divisions of the AICPA. Therese is chairman of the IRS-Practitioner Liaison Committee for the State of Alaska, and a current member of the Fairbanks Estate Planning Council, where she has served as President.

Therese is also past Chairman of the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce and the Fairbanks Downtown Association, as well as past member of the Carlson Activity Center Advisory Board,

Outside of the office, Therese enjoys running, bicycling, weights, river boating, and traveling.
